About the event
Do you want to build more strength, add fluidity, and bring elegance to your practice?
Do you notice your breath getting stuck during transitions, or feel tension—especially in your shoulders—interrupting your flow?
The Asana & Transitioning LAB is an in-depth alignment workshop designed to help you move with greater clarity, strength, and ease. This is a space to slow things down, explore specific asanas in detail, and understand how intelligent alignment and well-coordinated transitions create a safer, more fluid Vinyasa Flow practice.
A key focus of this workshop is understanding how the shoulders and spine work together. You’ll learn about scapulohumeral rhythm—the coordinated relationship between the shoulder blade and arm—and why healthy shoulder movement matters more than you might think. When this rhythm is disrupted, unnecessary tension often shows up in the neck, shoulders, or lower back, affecting both strength and breath.
We’ll also explore center of gravity and how subtle shifts in weight influence balance, effort, and ease. By learning how to organize your body around your center, transitions become lighter, more controlled, and far less exhausting.
Together, we’ll break down key postures and examine how the body moves between them—because transitions matter just as much as the poses themselves. You’ll learn how to move intelligently and efficiently, for example stepping forward from Wild Thing to Lunge with control, stability, and fluidity rather than force. These skills support dynamic movement while maintaining joint integrity and long-term sustainability.
This workshop is suitable for everyone: yoga beginners, vinyasa and flow practitioners, and anyone who wants to strengthen foundations, refine transitions, and deepen their understanding of how the body truly moves.
